Hello from Venneford Farm Country Meats
The 10th year of the indoor Winter Farm Market

Our booth is just inside the main entrance across the room from the escalators.
See below for what is new at my booth this week.

Up Coming Dates !!

Deer Hunting and Thanks Giving !!!

Holiday Cooking !!!!!!

Not everyone makes the traditional smoked ham or whole turkey.

If you don’t want a smoked ham, how about a wonderful Fresh Ham Roast.  (Pork version of a rump roast)  Make it like you would a shoulder roast but it is much leaner.  They are wonderful with a mix of cream of mushroom soup and sour cream poured over them and roasted with carrots and parsnips during the last hour.

Another alternative is a Beef Sirloin Tip Roast, Arm Roast, Beef Rib Roast or Beef Loin Roast.  All boneless and about 2 to 3.5 pounds each.

Did you know you can get everything you need for Thanks Giving dinner right at the farm market.  Even you decorating needs and things for while you watch the football game.

STUFFINGVFCM seasoned ground pork, apples from the west wing.

VEGGIES – Sweet potatoes, Yukon Gold potatoes, carrots, Parsnips, broccoli, and so much more from a variety of produce vendors including Red Belly Farm on the second floor.

SALADS – Apples for waldorf salad; carrots for the shredded carrot with raisin salad; cauliflower, broccoli and bacon from VFCM for the salad with the sweet n sour sauce and sunflower seeds.

BREADS – European breads, gluten free breads, whole grain breads; what a selection.

DESERTS – Pumpkins & eggs for pie.  Chocolates, Old fashion cookies, cakes and more. Or our Chocolate Cheese Fudge, it is the greatest.

While everyone is home for the holiday it is a great time for family breakfastTry our apple cinnamon porkie links, ham steak, beef breakfast steak, or try the great kringles from the second floor, many muffins to choose from and of course eggs from 3 different vendors.

During the Football game – put out a platter of our sausage and cheese.  Add pickles, beet pickles, chips with salsa, chocolate covered soy nuts, and many other things you can find at the market.

Now, if you don’t have the time to cook, or don’t want the mess, you can order all or just part of your meal from the Kangaroostaurant.  They use Venneford Farm natural Beef and ingredients from many of the other vendors at the winter market.  For more info check out www.kangaroostaurant.com

On the Farm.

We butchered a pig this week.  And we will be butchering more on Dec. 5.  We have a couple of half pigs available.  You can have it cut and packaged the way you want and it is a savings over buying by the package.  For more info, send me an email.

We also have openings for quarters and halves of BEEF in January and February.

CSA – I have been asked several times if we do a CSA.  Let me know if you are interested.  We are going to start to work to put something together for 2012 and would like your input.
